❰ it's definitely complicated — it's not just crowe she's remembered, and not all of it meshes coherently with what she already thinks she knows. hell, not all of it meshes coherently with this town. but she's pretty decent at compartmentalizing, and the compartment at the forefront of her mind right now is almost entirely occupied by crowe. ❱
I was checking out the shops, it's-... ❰ a little exhale that sounds an awful lot like a grin. ❱ Not important now. Come get me.
[ Who cares about the bike being too loud? Not this girl. She wants to be there for this, okay okay? And she will be, very quickly, squinting up and down the shops street. Should be easy to make out Raven, right? ]
❰ they hang up the phone, and raven sets whatever little things she meant to buy on a shelf near the door (not quite sorry for whoever has to put it back on the shelves where it goes) and heads out the front door into the welcoming sun of the main street sidewalk.
she hears the bike from pretty far off, but only quite manages to slide between two cars and out to the roadside when crowe's just a couple of shops down. still, she waves an arm to flag her down, sliding easily onto the bike about as soon as it comes to a stop. ❱
Take me somewhere, ❰ she says, just a couple of inches from crowe's ear so it's heard over the bike without having to yell. ❱ I don't want to go back to the house yet.
[ Six but when Raven says something like that, Crowe needs a moment to get her mind unscrambled. It's not what she's asking, it's not what she's asking, get your mind out of daydreams, Altius.
She swallows, and takes the second helmet from where she's had it hanging, her own on the handle on the other side. Holds it up to Raven. This distance, she could take in relative safety. Out in the woods? Well. Less so. ]
Sure. Wanna pick up something to eat out there, first?
❰ and raven wastes no time in accepting the helmet, pulling it on over her head and wrapping an arm around crowe's middle to show she's ready. ❱ What, like a picnic? ❰ she's pretty sure she hasn't been on one, not a real one anyway. they've spread out food on crowe's living room floor, hell, hundreds of times, but that hardly counts.
or maybe it's all that counts. jury's still out on that one. ❱
phone call (to nyx's or to their house phone, idc), backdated to like the 7th.
❰ so, y'know. there's that. based on the background noise, she's calling from one of the businesses in town. apparently, the epiphany couldn't wait. ❱
YAAAY
[ There's actual relief in her voice. Then a bit of a smile. ] That's good. [ That's awkward and complicated, but, by the Six, does it feel good. ]
You busy? I don't have to work until later, and I can come pick you up from wherever you are.

[ She's just going to stay clear of the farm grounds, once the grab the food. Kind of because she wants a tiny bit of privacy. Tracker be damned. ]
Feel like anything in particular, or I pick?
